Native American Warrior
This picture is of a Native American Powwow. This image shows how warriors wore their hair in a mohawk. This image shows what the French fur traders were thinking when they named the Wendat tribe the Huron tribe. “Huron” being the french word for "wild boar". The Frech fur traders thought the warriors’s hair style looked like a wild boar’s hair.
Stretched and Dried Beaver Pelt
Before Europeans could fashion the beaver’s fur into clothing it had to be dried and stretched. This is an example of how a Native Americans would do so before exchanging the pelt for various goods with the French traders.
Native American Mother and Baby
This Native American mother and baby give us insight today on how mother's took care of their children. As you can see, they would swuadle the infant and then the mother would carry the baby around her back.
Beaver Skin Top Hat
Beaver skin top hats are what drove the Europeans, particularly the French, to seek out the fur bearing animals of the great lakes region. This image shows what a top hat looks like on a man. The most expensive and valuable type of top hat were made of Beaver skins.
Birch Bark Canoe
This picture is of a Native American tribe traveling down a river in their birch bark canoe. The Native Americans used the many rivers and streams of Michigan to quickly transport goods from one location to another.

According to the source of the image, this is an example of good relations between French fur traders and Native Americans. It is thought to be a token of friendship. It has a small image of an engraved beaver, as well as the date 1768. This indicates that if this artifact is authentic than it was produced in during the height of the fur trade.
